Regarding the «Invented Cities» series
I am interested in the uncontrollable construction boom all over the planet and the evolution of the contemporary metropolis, its ominous bloating into a dense mesh, expanding in all directions.
Combining the free-hand gesture and rigid geometric forms that allude to building blocks and architectural layouts, I try to bring out images through multiple layers that recreate a sense of depth. In the Invented Cities series, the Metropolis is given form through stencils, rulers, rapidographs, markers and inks on water-proof, heavy coated plotter rolls, same as the ones used by architects for printing their city plans.
