“The term Group-in-Fusion is used by Jean-Paul Sartre to describe the sudden transformation that comes about when a number of individuals existing in their own mode of Seriality are suddenly and spontaneously united by a common purpose or Praxis. The emergence of the group-in-fusion transcends the Alienation of Seriality and allows individuals to overcome their isolation through their participation in a collective project. Individuals no longer see one another as others and potential rivals or competitors, and can realize their potential freedom in Praxis. […]”
Originally, collage artist Michael Anderson came to Athens to collect street posters to create his brand of large scale international collages. While here, he met Marianna Panayiotoudis and Theofrastos Haritos and had multiple conversations with them concerning both fine art scene and the street art scene in Athens. In an attempt to secure a studio Michael Anderson obtained the building, first as an open studio and then to create an exhibition combining both street and fine arts in one show to reinforce the collaboration of artists in Athens.

The projected proposition of the exhibition is to set some questions regarding not only the artistic scene but also involving contemporary Greek society itself: Can a core be created by people with utterly different backgrounds and perspectives in order to develop the existing art scene in Athens? What role can a group of artists play in this contemporary society? How might the context of these disparate art styles interact? How might the audience in its perception of the exhibition affect the synthesis of this group?
