Dimitris Dallas

The first contact with painting occurred at the young age of 15, using my bedroom walls asd
canvas.

Ever since I have been experimenting with various materials, such as acrylics, digitally proces
sed photographs, paper, wire and sand among others, in an attempt to express feelings and
ideas that concern man within the frame of our times.

Subjects such as despair, time, passion, love, hope and the unknown rise up through the syn
thesis of colors, symbols and the way in which I use painting tools – or my fingers – on canvas.

To me the processes of painting and collage are equally important to the work of art itself and
also since with the effect it has on the viewer. I work on the floor, move inside and around the
canvas, around different angles, drawing spontaneously.

Results vary, at times flirting with abstract expressionism, at times with surrealism, always remaining contemporary, sensual and dark.
